Arab Banking Corporation partners with Moody’s Analytics to implement Unified Credit Culture

Manama, Bahrain: Arab Banking Corporation ("ABC") has appointed Moody’s Analytics as their strategic training partner to deliver an in-house comprehensive credit training program in line with the Bank’s policy of continuous development of its rigorous credit culture across the entire ABC Group. ABC’s credit culture has evolved as a combination of policies, practices, experience, values and management attitudes but, perhaps most importantly; it is a function of its core Arab World strategy, its product skills and traditional knowledge of the region. The appointment follows a rigorous and competitive tender process that took place at the start of 2012.

The primary objective for ABC is to strengthen the bank’s credit risk and relationship management processes and establish a consistent approach to credit assessment and processing throughout its network across 21 countries in the Middle East and North Africa, Europe, the Americas and Asia.

Credit culture is not a policy document, constant employee development helps to ensure that it is embedded in our thoughts, our decisions and our actions” commented Vijay Srivastava, Group Chief Credit & Risk Officer at ABC. “A key differentiator of Moody’s Analytics is the expertise of the instructors, and the breadth, rigour and bespoke nature of the training programmes making them the best partner for ABC.”

Ian Gore, Group Head of Human Resources added, “ABC Group wide is redoubling its efforts with building capabilities internally. Group wide efforts in the areas of Leadership, self and people management, and Credit Culture supplement existing country specific programmes.”
