MENA’s leading international bank sets eyes on deeper penetration into Asia, bringing in new leadership to further its growth agenda in this increasingly important market for the Bank.​

The Bank’s Acting Group CEO, Sael Al Waary, commented on this appointment, “We are pleased to welcome Ms. Teng to the ABC family as we accelerate our transformation agenda to build the ‘bank of the future’. Her outstanding track record in the Asian market reinforces our confidence in her abilities to grow our business in this key market.”

Commenting on her new role, Ms. Teng said, “There’s a definite energy in the Group’s senior leadership, which is eager to transform the Bank and challenge the status quo. In a career spanning over 25 years, Cherie has successfully held several senior wholesale banking roles with world-leading banks. She joins the Bank ABC Group from HSBC Singapore, where she held the position of MD, Head of Corporate Banking, Commercial Banking, responsible for a portfolio of over 400 group relationships. Prior to that, she was with Standard Chartered Bank, where she started her career as an International Management Trainee and left as MD, Head Global Corporates, Wholesale Bank. 

Ms. Teng holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of London, United Kingdom.
