Bank ABC named "Bank of the Year in Bahrain” by The Banker magazine
2017-12-04
The Financial Times publication The Banker magazine has chosen Bank ABC as the winner of the “Bank of the Year-Bahrain” ward for the year 2017. This prestigious award aims to reward and promote industrywide excellence in the global banking community.

The selection process involves reviewing growth and performance figures for the past three years; strategies adopted to handle geopolitical uncertainty and changing regulations; major initiatives and technology projects implemented by the bank; improved client service and diversity and financial inclusion policies. The Awards Judging Panel, which is composed of The Banker’s editors, has specifically selected Bank ABC due to its “continued success across all key business metrics over the past year.

“We are particularly proud of this award. This is a recognition that we are on the right path to providing our customers with a differentiated experience and creating value for our shareholders,” said Dr. Khaled Kawan, Group Chief Executive Officer.

“We have over the past three years revamped our client experience both on our retail and wholesale businesses fronts, expanded our product base and strengthened our footprint across our international network,” he added.

Dr. Kawan concluded, “this well-earned market recognition represents a boost for our almost 3,000 employees who have worked hard every day to get us ahead of the curve with our customers on all fronts of our businesses across the markets where we operate.”

The Banker magazine organised the 2017 awards ceremony in London on 29 November 2017. The ceremony was attended by around 300 CEOs and C-Suite executives from around the globe.

Bank ABC is a leading player in the region’s banking industry and provides innovative wholesale financial products and services that include corporate banking, trade finance, project and structured finance, syndications, treasury and financial markets products and Islamic banking. It also provides retail-banking services through its network of retail banks in Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria.
