Bank ABC established its presence in the Algerian market by setting up a representative office in 1995, which enabled it  to develop and strengthen the cooperation with the Algerian Financial Institutions and to benefit from the economic reforms launched in the beginning of the 90’s, in particular the reforms authorising the establishing of private banks with foreign capital in the Algerian Market.

Bank ABC Algeria was then the first international private bank to be authorised to operate in Algeria by the “Conseil de la Monnaie et du Crédit” (Council of Currency and Credit of the Central Bank of Algeria) in 24th September, 1998 and began operations on 2nd December 1998 with the opening of its main branch at Bir Mourad Rais, Algiers.
