Amman, Jordan: As part of its responsibility towards local community development and its support for environmental and developmental initiatives, Bank ABC in Jordan has announced its backing of the Green Caravan program, launched by the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature (APN). Through this initiative, the Bank is contributing by planting 500 fruit-bearing trees across several agricultural areas in Jordan.
This initiative aligns with the Bank's corporate social responsibility strategy, which emphasizes sustainable development and supporting local communities. The project seeks to enhance food security, create long-term economic opportunities by empowering local farmers, strengthen agricultural sustainability and expand sources of income- while also contributing to environmental protection and increasing green spaces.
On this occasion, Mr. George Farah Sofia, General Manager of Bank ABC in Jordan, said: "We are proud of our partnership with the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature through the planting of fruit-bearing trees of nutritional, economic and environmental value. This initiative aims to increase green cover and help mitigate the effects of climate change.”
Mr. Sofia added: “Supporting and empowering farmers to continue their work is an investment in a more sustainable future for the entire community.”
